Created for an english project in February of 1997, "Macbeth" received rave reports from Glen Ridge High School, and its creators decided that it was worth
putting it up on the 'net. We've digitized the entire video with
Quicktime, and made it availiable in several different size and quality ratios. Download it
if you have the bandwidth, or just check out the trailer! We enjoyed every aspect of production, from the script, to
the "elaborately" staged battle scenes, all the way to the
special effects and the premiere of our video in English class, three
long and hard weeks later. For more information, go behind
the scenes. Find out what the heck was going through our heads!
What? You don't know what Macbeth is? Didn't you at least read the
Cliff's Notes? Oh well. Visiting a
great MACBETH site should get you up to speed. And I know you've at
least heard of Star Wars. For more
info on both of these topics check out our links section.
This site is full of information on how this video was completed. We've
also got sections dedicated to news, biographies, special effects, and the
entire video is available for download. Use the links at the top of the page
to navigate the site, and if
you have any questions, contact us!
If there's one thing we learned from "Star War : Macbeth" it's that this
kind of stuff can be a lot of fun. None of us were actors, it was our
second video production, and we had never attempted anything like this
before. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it immensely. If you have a video camera
lying around, and better yet some editing equipment (pretty cheap for computers
nowadays), go experiment. Be your own director. Go Hollywood... use a
skateboard for dolly shots, or a fishing rod for special effects. Its fun...
and when you're finished you can show it to people and watch as their eyes
light up. So if you're even vaugely interested in film, and you're at an age
when you've got so little responsibilities that you actually have time for
this stuff, take advantage of it - you may discover a talent you never new
existed, or a passion you never knew you had. Surf the 'net, check out some
links on film. You don't need the Force - just some
friends and a video camera. Browse the site, download a bit, write back to
us, and most of all - have fun!
